New season, new trends! Spring 2018 is offering a lot of interesting trends that may seem intimidating, but that are totally easy to pull off.
From polka dots and pastel to fringe, treat Spring 2018 as your personal runway and dive into this season’s hottest trends with open arms. I promise, they’ll brighten up your look and your days!
Here are 5 of Spring’s hottest trends and how to wear them!
Bold Ultra Violet might be the colour of the year, but it's softer hues that you will see popping up everywhere this season. Pretty pastel colours are what you want to wear for Spring. Try the trend for yourself with it-colour lilac, which is showing up in t-shirt dresses, tops with ruffled sleeves and more.
Polka Dot Central
For Spring/Summer 2018 the polka dot is back with a vengeance. It made a resurgence on the runway this season at shows by Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, and even Balenciaga to name a few. For your Spring looks, turn to a few tights options to incorporate this trendy print into your new season wardrobe. I’m currently coveting our Large-Polka-Dot Tights and our Over-the-Knee Polka Dot Tights to nail this trend all season long.
The runways have spoken and fringe is in! Fringe is super fun, but you don’t want to look like a fashion victim with too much of it. Instead, opt for fringe detailing on just one fashion item and not a head-to-toe look. Bring on the fringe by letting it swish on skirts or accessories with it with a statement purse for a look that isn’t too over-the-top.
It’s possible you were wearing checks in the winter, but they’ve also been named one of Spring’s IT prints! This major trend is an easy print to wear, especially as you transition your wardrobe from Winter to Spring. Wear the trend for yourself with a top in a checkered print or with a skirt. Be sure to cut up your outfit with other neutral pieces like a white blouse or a denim jacket.
Love it or hate it, puffed shoulders are making a comeback! This season, you’ll find tops and even dresses with exaggerated puffed shoulders. As a vintage-lover, I’m going back to my roots and wearing this trend with a blazer with puffed shoulders. We all have one in our mother’s closet, so save your money and head to your mom’s place and raid her closet, or a thrift store to find the perfect piece instead.
